Abandoned as a child, raised as a slave, by a slave for a rich mercenary. She lived on Tatooine her whole life, not allowed to do as she wanted, had to do what she was told. She had a necklace with her, with a symbol, the Jedi symbol. And she dreamed of being free from her chains... to join the Jedi...
One day, that dream became a reality. And she was set free of her bonds, to train with a Jedi master. Though she was strong, she wasn't strong enough to defeat the army.
But... Perhaps that's a good thing.
