Junior year, the year everyone says is the best.  There's just so many things you can do as a junior in high school right?  Junior prom, getting your driver's license, applying to colleges, etc.  Well here I am, starting my junior year of high school and dreading every minute of it.  Is it exciting?  Yes.  But at the same time it's scary as hell, it's the year that "everyone pays attention to," and it is just a lot of pressure to put someone under.  "Do good, you can do better than that!", "Are you even trying?", and "Don't you realize how important this is?" are just a few of the quotes you will hear from teachers, parents, family, and even friends throughout high school.  They say they're not pressuring us, but they don't realize how much they really are.
But that's all beside the point.  High school isn't easy and we all know that.  It's not all bad though.  Good things can happen, you just might have to wait a while for it to all turn around.  It's the year that ended up changing my life, even though I didn't realize that until later.All Rights Reserved

Girls swoon, teachers adore them, and they get to be the ones who set the rules. But what about the rest of us? What about me? I was the girl who lived in the shadow of their spotlight, always good at creative stuff-art, writing, anything that let me express myself. I'd count down the days to school events, not because I wanted to be the center of attention, but because I just wanted to be seen. I wanted recognition, even if it was just from one teacher or one friend, to feel like I mattered, like my voice was worth something. Was it easy? Not even close. If school taught me anything, it was that no matter how hard you try, there's always someone ready to outshine you. And if they can't? They'll find a way to tear you down, to make sure you never even get a chance to stand in their light. And when you think maybe the teachers will step in, help you out-well, sometimes they just sit on the sidelines, watching as you get pushed further into the background, as you're bullied into silence. Music was my life, until it wasn't. My parents loved hearing me sing, play the piano and violin as I was growing up it was something they could show off to people. However that was not a piratical career in their eyes. Every day was the same sometimes I felt like I was living the same day over and over again. I wanted to live and exciting life and play my music but in truth I was living a boring life and hardly even living at all. I left home in my last year of collage to study elsewhere. When I did that my boyfriend at the time broke up with me when I refused to come back. I dated someone else during that time but we sort of drifted apart towards the end of the year. I did return home and started to live as if I hadn't left for my final year of college. I even got back together with my ex. But it was the same day over and over again. After three months of living back at home I couldn't take it anymore so when my cousin told me he was going to New York City I asked if I could go with him. New York is full of life and i don't live the same day over and over again. I am getting back into music. Hoping one day i can get back on stage. I won't let anything or anyone stop me.
