His first impression: America is weird. On his first day at Ocean Creek High he finds out that in America, on your sixteenth birthday, you get something taking away from you by the government. THE BOY IS THE NEXT ONE TO GET MARRIED" I blush intensely but Jace didn't seem bothered by it. After awhile the speeches started and I dragged Jace out of the reception hall and into a vacant upstairs room. In the room there was an ugly orange couch against off white walls, a computer on a desk with a rolling desk chair. There was a hideous marble carpet. He and I take a seat on the couch without turning the lights on. We sit inaudibly in the dark, with just the moonlight lighting our faces. "Jace, I wanna ask you something." "What is it?" He asks, clueless. "Okay I know that I haven't always been the nicest, and I haven't exactly been there for you but, will you maybe go out with me?"
