Sometimes, even the Wizarding World makes mistakes. Sometimes, even the greatest wizards and brightest witches can be wrong. Perhaps they knew they were wrong. Perhaps they didn't. Either way, the truth will out, in the end, just as it always does. Harry Potter believed himself to be incapable of love, as he had never remembered having anyone there who really cared for him, and who he could care for back. Until, that is, September 1st 1991. Hermione Granger didn't have any friends at her last school. She was picked on for being smart, and never had any idea what was wrong with her. An outcast, she hoped her next school would open up new opportunities for friendships like no other. She had no idea quite what her next school would be like, and didn't know who it was she would meet on September 1st 1991. True friendship is rare, but true love is rarer. Can this as of yet unfortunate pair find both of these things at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? You hope so. I hope so. Let's just find out. Y/N landed from the private plane, met by the familiar face of the flight attendant who had been a constant presence since her childhood. The attendant had aged gracefully from her 20s to her early 30s, witnessing Y/N's growth over the years. For the Muggle world, Y/N's education was shrouded in secrecy. Amaryllis told her Muggle friends that Y/N attended a boarding school, conveniently hiding Hogwarts. The Four Founders of Hogwarts had devised a fictional boarding school in the Muggle realm, providing a cover for Muggle-born students like Hermione. The clock showed 9 am, marking the next day after their 8 pm leave yesterday. As they stepped onto Californian soil, the warm sun welcomed them. The temperature wasn't as scalding as Y/N remembered, but it was certainly much, much warmer than London. ✴✴✴✴✴ The crowd erupted in joy as the new year arrived, and fireworks burst into the sky, casting a brilliant, kaleidoscopic display. In that moment, amidst the sparkling lights, Y/N and Hermione sat next to each other - they always have. But one thought they shared indefinitely: "I'm confused about you." ✴✴✴✴✴ Disclaimer: This book follows the plot of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
