When young Evelyn's home is invaded and destroyed by the ruthless legion of Alderon, the most powerful nation in all of Rayshuk, she is torn from her family and her people are enslaved. In order to stay safe, Evelyn Mallene, rightful heir to the throne, is taken far away and raised in secret. 

Meanwhile, throughout the land, a darkness is growing. Violent storms and fires are raging across the country.
