The Titan Reactor is a source of unlimited energy, invented by the brilliant William Axle. At the dawn of the 20th century, a devastating space battle with the German forces takes place in orbit, with William and his son, Nathan, aboard the American ship. It is believed that the battle takes the lives of both, along with destroying the only known Titan Reactor.

Although blueprints for the Titan Reactor design remain in American hands, William held on to one vital piece of information that makes the reactor a possibility. With William gone, reconstruction of another reactor proves impossible.

The story picks up ten years after the battle. A truce has been made between nations, but tensions run high as many anticipate the outbreak of war. It is during this time that a letter surfaces, revealing that Nathan is still alive.

A man by the name of Boiler, long time friend of the Axles and brilliant mechanic, happens upon this information and rushes off to find Nathan. It soon becomes apparent that Boiler is not the only one interested in finding the boy. It is believed that Nathan holds the key to the fabled Titan technology, but the space battle has cost him his memory and any knowledge he had of his fathers legacy.

As the story progresses, Nathan and Boiler team up with Katrina Ivanova, the Wright Brothers, Dr. Housen and many more as they try to uncover both Nathan's lost memories and his new found enemies. As Europe teeters on the brink of war they begin to see the key role Nathan will play in uncovering the secrets of the Titan technology.

(Highest rank #12 in sci-fi). When a dangerous ancient artifact hidden by the Egyptian gods activates after millennia, the long-dormant powers of a half-alien boy come alive just in time to save the Earth. But he never imagined winning over a girl would be harder than saving the world. And he may not even do that. THE LONG VERSION: Human life was hard enough for 17-year-old Gil Scott when his father suddenly disappeared from a temple dig. But when the half-alien teen uncovers a conspiracy surrounding the artifact his human dad was hunting, Gil must use his alien powers to track it down before it destroys the planet he calls home. With the help of a beautiful Oasen-human hybrid whose drive to succeed masks her private pain, Gil borrows his mom's spaceship, following the same clues across Egypt as his father. The teens battle strange weather phenomena and rising global panic as they race through the suffocating heat of the desert, through deluged ancient temples, and hidden libraries hiding more than just books. That is until it starts snowing on the Great Sphinx and they unearth a millennial-old message from Ra himself, addressed to Gil, with a choice that will affect everyone's future. Unraveling Ra's remaining clues, they rush to locate the powerful artifact in time. But Ra and the other ancient aliens' thousands-year-old, carefully mapped plan to save the Earth from the Aten has a fatal flaw, and their gamble may cost Gil the only life that will matter to him in the end. And possibly the planet itself. (Cover image: Photo of The Pyramids of Giza from Egypt combined with a Hubble image. Original photographer: Rom Srinivasan, 2005)

A story told in two perspectives. Set in an alternate industrial world where radio technology is rendered nearly obsolete due to a magnificent yet mysterious and devastating phenomenon that has crippled its use. Nations has prospered with the further development of flight and the inception of the skyship, a series of heavily-armed floating warships that has the ability to cross continents and wrest control of the skies. This story arc is told in the perspective of a young Aurelian soldier, Everent Clauvis Griswall, who struggles to come in terms with his brother's 'death'. Severely delusional and suffering from a complex, he inadvertently sets out to find the truth behind the War that had killed his brother and engulfed the whole continent of Steiffer with chaos and death. The second story arc is set in the future Earth where an unexpected turn of mysterious events has triggered a massive War that has destroyed many countries, rendering the surviving nations struggling for what's left of the resources on the ravaged world. Unable to travel across devastated wastelands stretching hundreds of miles apart, nations have developed and built gravitational elevators as a main mode of transport among each other. The second story arc is told in the perspective of Jeremiah Kelson, a young and aspiring scientist/operative who had an unexpected military background and skill. Having no memories of his past, Kelson finally sets out to find the roots of his forgotten memories without knowing that it would place him in dangerous situations in search of his past life. After crossing paths with many different peoples of the other world, Kelson would eventually begin to question himself of his origins and has decided to find it out. Little does he know that fate will bring him in a chance encounter with another young soldier that might have some connections with him, leading to the revelations of a bigger and more shocking truth of the relations between the both worlds...
