Angel is confused. He doesn't know his identity. All he knows is a pressing urge to get into the mountains, to find something that's been lost.

Maddie is a survivor. She doesn't trust many, and she never removes the frayed, dirty bandages that wrap around the lower half of her face.

Sofia is a princess. Supposed to take rule over this battered country with an iron fist, to uphold the code of her predecessors. She is glad to do it.

Tobias is enraged. His brother is missing, somewhere in the desert, and he wants him back. But how can he do that, when he's forced to keep guard over the to-be Queen?
