In a world where when  you turn 25 you turn into a Kanda, a human like monster, it's cause is due to genetic engineering, scientists tried to create a vaccine for cancer that they injected to every pregnant women to wipe it out from the next generation, Generation X. Most people are taken away for testing when they're 18, but if you hide you can avoid it.
