Avery Laurenne Grace was an ordinary girl. Nothing special, just plain and simple. She leads a normal life like any other 16 year-old. But when her father receives a job promotion and the Graces have to move to NYC, things start to change and Avery meets problems. Falling in love and heartbreak never really came across Avery's mind and she never thought much about it. She was carefree about feelings. As Avery aspires to be a dancer, she knows that being a loner in high school definitely will slow her from making it big, so she sets out to make friends, finally realising that being a loner isn't that good.
