The Purple Rose

Jabulani. Her name itself meant 'rejoice' but many would agree that she had converted it to mean 'crazy'. And they loved her. At least the women did, mainly because she always had this innate courage (or stupidity) to speak aloud her thoughts,however incriminating. She said it. Always. Life was too short to keep it all in, she said. It might or might not have made it worse that she was the principal of the local primary school,therefore giving her various platforms to express herself. Oh boy. Express herself she did, leaving no stone unturned, much to the frustration of the men over the 'crazy woman who would not shut up'. The country of Kitsamu was in trouble ,and she would be damned if she let it go down with her mouth shut.

Alpha desperately needed his father's approval before he officially received the crown as Kitsamu's 13th monarchial leader on his 30th birthday. He hadn't exactly done a great job at earning it before, what with his cliche bad boy image and bratty attitude that had been cultivated within his younger years as the one heir to the crown. No responsibility, no work ethic, no care, yet ,more money, more cars, more women. Well his days as the spoilt prince were numbered as within a year, he was expected to have grown up and shaped up enough to be the damn king. Sigh. And as if that wasn't enough, he just bumped into another problem. With a capital J. Rude, intelligent and devastatingly distracting, she was the last thing he needed. She would fail miserably at trying to divert the crown away from him though...and he loved a good win.

Jabulani couldn't stand him. All this man had ever proved himself to be was a snobby, promiscous horndog whose biggest dillema in life was whether to have beef or fish for dinner. This was their next king? Not if she could help it.
