Oliver is important. She's immune to the plague threatening what remains of humanity- not that true humanity really exists anymore, what with the government placing regulations, curfews, rules upon it's people. America is no longer a democracy, it is a series of dictatorships. When Oliver was young, the militia controlling Sector 7- one of fourteen major cities left in America- found her and brought her in. The militia's scientists performed a series of surgeries on her, turning her into a weapon for their leader. She was freed by an old friend and now here she is, trekking through the wild with a group of outcasts, smugglers with no true purpose. But boy, is that about to change. When they find the first outpost meant to signify that they are nearly to Toronto- where a group of scientists called Firefly will figure out what the militia did to her- is empty, they know something is wrong. And furthermore, can the group trust her, or will they stay estranged for the entire journey as what would be a week-long journey spirals into chaos?
