"It is widely accepted that the supernatural's existence is unfathomable, and those that believe in it are simply mad." ♰ Jezebel Barker was a young, innocent girl who resided in the English moors her entire life. She was a provider, a good girl, when it came to her three siblings. She was a Christian, devoted herself to her family's practice and went to church each Sunday. The dark, windy, overgrown moors were her home. She loved it there. She spent most her time with her father, Damien Barker, reading historical novels and discussing the political climate. But when her entire family comes down with a deadly sickness and passes away, Jezebel is left behind with her father. They travel to the Riley Castle prompted by an invitation from the owner himself, and Jezebel finds herself beholding a gothic, chilling, and enigmatic fortress she is not certain she wants to reside in. Alas, she has no other choice, and enters the castle's depths alongside her father to meet some strange individuals indeed. A tale of mystery, secrets, and supernatural phenomena dwells between the words of "Castle," and haunts the reader to the very end. ♰ [1st Person P.O.V] [Ghost x Reader] [König x Reader] [Contains Smut] ♰ Disclaimer: I do not own the Call of Duty franchise, its plot, or its characters. INTERNATIONAL BEST SELLER * EDGAR WINNER OF THE MARY HIGGINS CLARK AWARD Be careful what you conjure... London, 1852. Genevieve Timmons has made her living posing as a spiritualist to swindle wealthy believers, until one misstep lands her in a jail cell awaiting the noose. Then a stranger, Mr. Lockhart, arrives to make her a peculiar offer. The lord he serves, Mr. Pemberton, has been grieving the mysterious death of his beautiful bride-to-be for six months. Although no foul play was ever uncovered, the young lord is convinced that she was murdered. If Genevieve can hold a séance to persuade him that his betrothed's spirit is at peace, Mr. Lockhart promises to have the charges against her dismissed and reward her with enough money to start a new life. But when Genevieve arrives at Somerset Park estate, she discovers that the handsome and aloof Mr. Pemberton is anything but the heartbroken lover she expected. Mr. Pemberton then approaches Genevieve with an offer of his own: together, they will stage a séance so convincing it will coax the killer out of the shadows. Attempting to play both sides until she can determine which plan holds the key to her freedom, Genevieve prepares to stage a haunting. But when ghoulish incidents begin to plague the manor, the dogged heroine realizes her tricks may not be required after all. Somerset and its residents are hiding many deadly secrets, and its ghosts could be all too real. Available as ebook/audiobook/paperback! https://a.co/d/8kO7Nef

~Based on Michael Jackson's short film/music video, "Ghosts"~ "Being different isn't a bad thing. It means you're brave enough to be yourself." -Luna Lovegood, Harry Potter 20-year-old Kelsey Carlyle has just moved into the small town of Normal Valley, where everyone seems to be...well, normal. Well, almost everyone. Just as she settled in, she has trouble making friends with the townspeople, mostly because of the Mayor, a shrewd, stuck-up man who tends to keep his town just the way it is, and how he sees the seemingly innocent newcomer as a "new threat", or mostly likely, a "weird" one, and that there is another one just like her. Realizing that she doesn't fit in with anyone in Normal Valley, Kelsey demands to know if there is anyone like her there. One day, she gets her answer. She stumbles upon an old house in the woods no one is allowed to step foot in, and there, she meets the Maestro, a strange, mysterious, yet handsome figure living alone in the house, and finds out that he has supernatural abilities. Will he help Kelsey reveal her true colors to herself and help her open her eyes? And will she be there in time when she finds out that the Mayor and the townspeople plan to run her new friend out of town and tell them that he's not so bad of a man as they claim he is before it's too late? Read and find out. Just don't get scared! 😈

Lessoc Fountain - a fairy-creature tale

Selected for Editor's Choice! Some secrets refuse to remain silent. Deep in Switzerland, the Intyamon valley was once home to many humans and strange beings. Years ago, in a wooden chalet rooted on the side of the valley, there lived a young girl who was desperately lonely. In the middle of Lessoc, a small village, there was a fountain. Humans had a charming legend they told about it, but fairy creatures whispered of dark deeds and bloodshed. On a farm nearby, there was a boy growing callous and cold from the harsh life he was given. A path in the valley forest led to a hill covering a vast hall under its rocky layers. A fairy king held his court in that hall and the great fairies danced and feasted throughout the nights. There was a horse with a battle-scarred coat and soul, who longed for redemption. And there was one last creature whose heart has withered away long ago. Lessoc Fountain would call them them together.
