John is a twelve year old boy. His parents were killed by a plague, and he lives with his grandparents, who run an inn for the special and unique quests of the kingdom who have no other place to go. These guests include a necromancess, a shamaness, a witch, a son of an anicent bloodline, and two Frenchies. Then a dark plot is discovered when the witch finds a body of an unnatural unique, someone like the guests in the inn. The body was obviously stabbed many times. They discover that on of the nearby dukes abhores unnaturals, and plans to have the inn ransacked and burn to the ground, with everyone in it. Most people agree that John, an innocent boy, his life untouched by the threads of magic aside from the guests of the inn, should leave. But when they discover that John is actually a seer, unknown to all but the witch, they realize that they must defend John and this inn with all of their might an unnaturalness.
Even if It costs some of them their lives.

But when the enemy, the Foreshadowed somehow get their hands on her, her family secrets crawl out and reveal a power she has no idea existed. The man tells her his name finally but he also reveals a dark horrible secret from his past which traumatized him for years, then she feels like she's actually falling in love with him. He knows everything about her, the reason she became human, the two powers she could have, the truth of how her father died. He begins to protect her life with his own.
