Life has changed since The Cosmic War infiltrated its way into the lives of all. Government is no longer government, families are no longer families, and structure has more meaning than anything else. “Live with your similar, breathe on your own, and rely on the new-found structure,” they like to say. The Impression has taken control. Every child is branded – marked – on the nape of their neck the day they are born. This mark grows down ones back each year until the child reaches seventeen – the age of adulthood in new-society – and is what determines your future. Three special marks resonate around the world – three and not one mark more. Your mark tells you where to live, who to befriend, who to love. What happens if you find your mark completely unique, one like no other? Or, at least, so you think?

NOT EDITED VERSION. Delilah got a huge responsibility on her shoulders at the age of 17 when her parents died. The responsibility: her seven year old sister, Alice. They don't know exactly how their parents died. All they knew was that their car exploded, but their bodies were never found, even after the fire was put out. Looking at myself in the mirror I began to trace the small outline of my birthmark with my fingers. Anxiety began to claw at the back of my mind because of the fear of the unknown.
