The sweet tapping of keys lulls them asleep,
Ignites the fire,
Frees the spirit,
Gives the right to judgment,
Gives hope to those who need to most,
Steals from the wordy,
To give voices to the quiet.

The brutal hitting of keys stirs the soul,
Breaks the heart,
Burns the life,
Steals hope, peace, love,
All they need,
Strips the thought of their righteousness,
To teach them,
To tattoo across theirnmind,
The pain, suffering,
The truth.

Emotional Amnesia, de CAKerst

Sometimes when I say "I'm okay", I want someone to look me in the eyes, hug me tight and say, "I know you're not". I have felt like this many times in my life; as a kid, teenager and as an adult. I have seen many things in my life and felt even more things that has been horribly depressing... But I got up. I stood up to walk on for another day. I dealt with my emotional amnesia the only way I knew I could and that was by writing it out into poetry. I wanted to forget my pain and forget what I was going through. I needed that cut of the blade or a pill to drink to take everything away. My poetry became both my pill and my blade... Now I share the most intimate part of myself with the world. The part of me I kept hidden in the closet. The part I never thought I would ever present to the world. Now is the time I have to stop having amnesia about my emotions. It is time to learn, to better myself and to stand up and remember the things that I shut out like a voluntary amnesia all these years. Those who are offended after reading this - f**k you! If you are sad with me and willing to cut your wrist - I know how you feel! With writing a story you can create the emotion and genuine reaction of people in a situation so everyone can understand. I feel that if I can tell a story real enough, then others going through the same struggles would see what the true outcome looks like. This compilation of stories includes pieces I wrote for creative writing classes, stories I started but didn't feel I could enlongate, poetry that's personal, and short pieces I wrote for fun. *Bold writing is just me either explaining it or adding my two cents*

This book is a different book where every chapter is a short story, poem, rant, or just the perspective of many different types of mental illnesses such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, And even more extreme as what causes them, Like abuse, Murder, Witnessing a Murder of a loved one. And many more scenarios that mess our human minds up to the max; most of the times leaving us broken and damaged feeling in the head.

For every person out there that was quiet, not because they chose to be so, but because they were choking in the smoke. Because their opinions were apparently not worth anything. Because they didn't know just how to say what they felt. For every person that is consumed by their own thoughts, the derision from the outside world only making it worse. For every soul that was drowning in remorse and anguish on restless nights. For every soul that says I love you in the dark and in the mirror because no one else does. For the floors we would pace while anxiety sunk its teeth into us. For the mirrors that we would break while shame echoed its laugh in our caged walls. For the hearts that would ache while loneliness was the only company. For every moment of pain and solitude in this world that feels too cruel for such young and frail minds.
