The Ira are the malevolent spirits of those who died and refused to let go of their bitterness in death. They possess the living and wreak havoc on their lives, drawing them closer to the edge.
It is the job of the Reapers to purify these souls and send them to the afterlife.
Silas is perhaps a Reaper. Perhaps an Ira.
