It's the year 3999 in the 31st century. The world has advanced in all the technology greatly. Back in the old times, the average life span was 80; but now, technology can make you live a very long time. You spend 4 years on each year. But here's the thing; is that a good thing or a bad thing? ~ Laura Breckenson, age 16 on her 4th year, lives in New Earth, at least that's what the new rulers call it. The rulers make an impression that they want to help the people, but do they really? Are they hiding something? That's what Laura wants to find out. ~ Everyone is excited for the new year, unless your Laura. In 2999, the government fell and was destroyed. All of the leaders which included her dad were kidnapped that faithful night on December 31, 2999, right before the new year. No one knows what happened on that night, besides Laura. Laura witnessed the whole thing, but she is afraid to tell the rulers, because she believes they won't believe her, and something seems weird about them; like they are hiding something. What she saw that night was unforgettable, and what she was told that night was unforgettable. "The time is up for you and your people, we are coming back in 100 years' time from now, so prepare yourselves for your extinction." That's what the kidnappers told her. Laura is confused and worried for the time to come, and she still wonders, what will she need to prepare herself for? Laura doesn't know who to trust and who to tell. She wants to help by warning the people, but will they listen? Along the way she meets a girl named Kacy. Kacy seems to not like the new year either, and always is uncomfortable with the topic. Do Kacy and Laura's not liking the new year have a connection? Can she trust Kacy? Most important of all, will she survive? Find out in: "It's Not Over Yet"
