A baby was sentenced off to death because the mother was accused of adultery. This wasn't an ordinary family that would send a child to death for unclean blood; this was the Queen and King's child.  The king told one of his trusted guards to kill the infant in the night. When the guard had taken the baby he could not kill the innocent. He took the child into a human world through a portal a few cities over.

He was to come back when the child became of the age of 19. 

However,  when the time came he did not come for him. Not because he simply forgot, but because he sent his daughter instead. His daughter was sent to show him his destiny.

Victoria Abelard, better known as Vick, was a famous vampire hunter in the early nineteenth century. After a botched job, she was turned into the one thing she hated most. A vampire. Two hundred years later, Vick has learned how to blend in with the human crowd. Her life couldn't be anymore perfect, especially with the disappearance of vampires for over fifty years (which hunters gladly help keep in place). However, her life is turned upside down when two old friends pop back into it. Them requesting her to assassinate the king of the vampires. Just when she thought she was free, Vick is thrown back onto the roller coaster of life. She wants to rule the Kingdom of Vivelle with her sisters by her side. She only has a few days left to come up with a plan before the Trial begins. With the whole kingdom watching eagerly to see which daughter wins, it is going to be almost impossible for Illyana to change the minds of a nation so that she can sit on the throne. Warning!
