Corrine (Cori) Lawrence is tired of everyone looking at her as the famous model that she is. She's been in and out of trouble, and is not what she appears to be on the outside. This girl has some serious baggage. She wants everyone to see that she is a regular girl who wants to be loved. One who wants attention from her father every now and again. She wants to see what it's like to be a normal teenager with normal teenage problems.

Chase Baker never had a shot at a normal life either. Always on the run with his drug-addicted mother and seldom-present father, Chase never had the time for frivolous thinking. He had to learn to fend for himself at a very early age, and had the rap sheet to prove it. With his father missing-in-action, and his recently deceased mother, he has nowhere to turn to but his gang, the trouble he's in only escalating further.

When he finally has a chance to make things right in his life, he messes it all up, and is sentenced to live with Cori and his aunt. Chase underestimates Cori, and puts her into the stereotype that everyone has about rich people, only to discover that Cori has quite a history of her own. Cori causes him to re-think eveything he's ever known. And vice versa.
