Forever? Again.

I walked into my apartment and scanned over the name once again. James Preston. Why? Why after so long was he trying to get in contact with me? It's been three years. Three years since we called things off, three years since his son has been born, three years since he left. It all made no sense to me.

I opened the letter and read it.

Dear Aubree,

I know it's been a while, but I need you to hear me out. I've been thinking about a few things which is why I've decided to get in contact with you again. I didn't like how we left things three years ago. I want to have the chance to change that. I've changed, you've changed, Chris isn't a baby anymore, I understand. I also understand if you don't want anything to do with me at this point, which is okay. But if you are willing to take this chance and talk to me again then keep reading this.

I've been offered a job by where you're living now and as crazy as it sounds, I was wondering if you can let me stay at your place until I get a few of my things together and get my own place. Chris can finally get to meet me and we can fix things and make amends. I know you still think about me Aubree, what we had, what we could have had, because I think about those things too.

You think I wanted to leave you the way I did? Leave my son with no idea who his father was? No. That's why I came back. To change things.
