It's been good over evil since people began to walk the earth. It's been the heroes defeating the villains since the dawn of mankind. Even so, this time they think they've got it.
It started with the day codenamed the Cataclysm. They had a pattern to everything they did: a villain would cause chaos, a hero would come, they would fight, somehow the villain would come out on top, and the villain would take the hero away in a cloud of dust. The heroes are gone now: all of the Justice League, each of the Titans, every lone wolf hero.
