It had been a while since the Doctor had contacted the ponds about a strange girl he said to be impossible. He told them about the small things he had remembered of her but he couldn't remember her face. And when Amy and Rory received letters from River to meet him at a diner in the middle of nowhere, they knew that this would be an important journey.
