Lydia Thomas' parents had no hand in raising her. When the woman who did raise her passes away, her parents are quick to fly across the country to finally be there for their only daughter. After graduation, they up and lift her from the only town she's lived in. Soon enough she finds herself in Marblehead, Massachusetts, her parent's hometown. She harbors so much anger to her parents for not being there for her as she grew up. But Marblehead is a fresh start, a way to reinvent herself before college. What is meant to be a second chance quickly turns into her only chance, when tragedy strikes and her life is put on hold.
