Rayne is ready to do her part as a trainee of the Arkane Guard in the war against the Saturnine who bring Darkness into the Realms. She believes that she is just one of many talented elite soldiers trained to do her part in keeping the Darkness at bay, but of course, life is never so simple. 

Prince Jace is a tormented soul bent on revenge against his childhood best friend who betrayed him to the King of Saturnine. While on the surface the change from being a lowly Guard trainee who was hand chosen to become the heir to the most powerful kingdom by the King of Darkness himself, it has come at a grave cost. Can Jace throw off the Darkness that has clouded his mind in time to be saved?

Bryan is the mysterious trainer that takes over the responsibility of training the future of the Guard and most likely the key to the fates of all the Realms. Having most of his true self magically locked away for the safety of those around him, he finds that the strange girl he has been put in charge of makes it difficult to stay in control.
