"Hiccup!" The scream of Valka pierces through the heart of the dragon carrying the child. He knows that the family will grieve, but the child is the one. This one dubbed 'Hiccup' will be the savior, he is sure of it. He will bring the two worlds of the humans and the dragons together for good. He can do it, and Toothless is well aware of it.
Being raised by dragons for twenty years, practically his whole life, Hiccup hardly seems human anymore, much less a Viking. His Norse is cracked, and he usually speaks in the language of the dragons, Krokonja. Among the dragons, his name is Songbird the Savior, for all the good he has done. The dragons are his kin, and he will do anything to protect them, even if it means giving up his own life. So when he crashes upon a strange land, he immediately knows he has to hide Toothless from the inhabitants of the island.
