The Test

Her greatest test is yet to come... In their final year of high school, all children must take The Test. They cannot prepare for it, do not know what it involves. They don't even know it is a test. None of the previous years have ever come back to talk about it. Each child, boy or girl, is ushered into a white room with no other furniture than a white chair and white table. They are asked questions meant to test their intelligence by a recorded machine but given no time limit. The ones that pass are elevated into higher levels of education; the ones who don't are thrown out on the streets and left to die. This is the story of one girl who failed The Test. Her time on the streets is not an easy one-her parents disowned her the moment they found out, and she has been on the run from the secret police almost from the minute she got there, but she doesn't know why. She doesn't know that in reality, she did not fail the test. She aced it.
