She reminded him of a wet pebble; cold to the touch, hard, noir, from the heated core of the earth.

He reminded her of abandoned coffee; bitter, in need of warmth, inherently lonely.

Arrogant boy.

Merciless girl.

Hard girl.

Prickly boy.

In their own rotating worlds all they once shared were water waves and chlorine.

-

Hugh's slowly falling apart- the Wonder Boy is a wonder no more- and he's becoming increasingly lonely and itching to go rogue.

Darya wasn't ever much of a Wonder Girl. She was a hazard. Trouble dressed in black.

But both are forced together- colliding worlds, colliding hands and skin and minds. Can they finds flickers of warmth in the other's lives?

Swim or drown? Which one will they choose?

Meet Kitty Proud, a wallflower who prefers to blend into her background. Ever since her mom died, she had receded into a shell, emotionally blocking herself from everyone. Meet Wesley Bane, who doesn't seem to understand 'walls'. He is cocky, arrogant and finds great pleasure in getting on Kitty's nerves. But sometimes when someone has walls as thick as Kitty's there needs to be a conceited jerk to shake her world and make her live again. - "I like a bit of danger," Wes whispered, his grey eyes shining. "Yeah?" I said in a flat tone. "Then you have nothing to do with me." "It's the quiet girls that are the kinky ones," he winked. I blanched, but tried to keep my cool, "And it's guys like you who're man-whores." He opened his mouth to say something but I quickly cut him off, "Well, if you don't mind, could you kindly remove your hand?" I looked pointedly at his hand. His eyes had a certain glint to them as he winked at me before he squeezed his hand. The cap sprang off, hitting my face as coffee spilled over my hands. I shrieked as the hot coffee scalded my hand, effectively causing me to drop the cup. I was glad to see that I dropped it on Wes' shoes though, causing it to satisfyingly splatter onto his jeans. "What the hell?" he shrieked, jumping back. "Don't 'what the hell' me!" I shouted at him. "What is your problem, Bane?!" "Well, you see, there's coffee on my shoes now," he frowned. "They were expensive too, you know." I huffed in irritation, fuming, "If only money could buy decency."
