"You Only Get What You Want If You Fight For It."
"Fire is a wonderful thing, isn't it?" Flames danced on the lady's fingertips. "It destroys the old and prepares for the new. It brings both death and life," she murmured distractedly. "Unfortunately," she paused, letting the flames engulf her whole hand, "it brings death more often."
The lady gazed at me sadly, and extinguished the flames. "I am sorry for the request I must make of you, child," the woman paused, taking a moment to look up, and then back at me. "But please hear me out. This is the last thing I can do correctly before I die." She spoke solemnly, her voice cracking in every sentence. Tears streamed down her face as she continued, "I am so tired. I have gone insane," her sobs broke through her words, and her voice turned thick. "This life has been far too long and horrid."
Because Faith was an orphaned child, she was looking forward to being an adult. She was excited to experience the world as a normal person. Unfortunately for her, things were going awry. From not having parents to the odd dreams that felt like memories, normalcy was just a fantasy for her. Faith was losing her grip on reality. Unbeknownst to her, outside of the world that she knew was a place where her true family waited, and they were anxious to see her again.
Faith needed to return home.
[Please take note: There is murder, death, gore, and blood in this book. If you are not comfortable with such scenes, please do not read. There are no sex scenes. They will only be mentioned. Minimal cursing.]
This is a predominantly fantasy based novel, however several events relate to major historical events around the world.

He watched as her eyes skimmed over his dark eyes and black hair with barely a reaction. He felt his pride twinge a bit so he went further. Lifting his hands, he let the blood drip from them. Her eyes widened slightly and her chin rose. She looked at his hands then back at him. His dark eyes gleamed in a challenge. "You've not harmed me or mine, faery." She spoke out loud. "Blood does not scare me and neither do you. Keep your dog on its leash." Then she turned and calmly walked back inside. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok?
