The Nadir Chronicles- Book 1 The Book of Phoenixes, Werewolves, and Dragons. "You Only Get What You Want If You Fight For It." "Fire is a wonderful thing, isn't it?" Flames danced on the lady's fingertips. "It destroys the old and prepares for the new. It brings both death and life," she murmured distractedly. "Unfortunately," she paused, letting the flames engulf her whole hand, "it brings death more often." The lady gazed at me sadly, and extinguished the flames. "I am sorry for the request I must make of you, child," the woman paused, taking a moment to look up, and then back at me. "But please hear me out. This is the last thing I can do correctly before I die." She spoke solemnly, her voice cracking in every sentence. Tears streamed down her face as she continued, "I am so tired. I have gone insane," her sobs broke through her words, and her voice turned thick. "This life has been far too long and horrid." Because Faith was an orphaned child, she was looking forward to being an adult. She was excited to experience the world as a normal person. Unfortunately for her, things were going awry. From not having parents to the odd dreams that felt like memories, normalcy was just a fantasy for her. Faith was losing her grip on reality. Unbeknownst to her, outside of the world that she knew was a place where her true family waited, and they were anxious to see her again. Faith needed to return home. [Please take note: There is murder, death, gore, and blood in this book. If you are not comfortable with such scenes, please do not read. There are no sex scenes. They will only be mentioned. Minimal cursing.] This is a predominantly fantasy based novel, however several events relate to major historical events around the world.

Everyone she knew and cared about was murdered in a twisted idea of fun, she was the only survivor. Quickly dumped into a world of supernatural Aurora must find her place despite the fact a possessive werewolf seems to want to tell her what to do. Can she adjust or will she crumble under the pressure? Excerpt: The screams and cries for help faded while silent tears continued to stream down her face. Her hands were slapped over her mouth to muffle any noise that escaped her quivering lips. She wasn't sure how long she was in that pantry but couldn't come out until she was beyond certain that they had left. For a moment, she started to have hope that maybe they wouldn't be able to find her, but a voice spoke up, and fear flooded in once again. "You cleared out the upstairs, too, right?" "Yeah." Another voice responded. There was a slight pause, "Hmm. Then where is that heartbeat coming from, I wonder." His voice had a sickening amusement to it, and her heart rate uncontrollably spiked with the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Was he talking about her? The thought that he could hear her heartbeat was crazy. It just wasn't humanly possible. Footsteps grew closer to the kitchen. Somehow, they had found her. She said one last prayer and goodbye to her life as the pantry opened. "Boo." The man yelled, peering in at her. She was frozen. There was nothing more she could do. She was going to die. "Little Birdy," he stretched out his hand, "come out to play."
