Caden Sparks seemed like a regular girl, except she smiles just a little too much. New girl, and somewhat of an optimist, of Westfield High, Caden already makes an enemy, Alexandria Henson. She is also greeted by all-time nerd, Morgan Hunders, and certified bad boy, Jordan Anderson, Caden notices that they don't smile very much. Caden brings the three together and shows them how to smile the real way. Along, with some of their own surprises. Alexandria might not even be Caden's enemy, Morgan may not even be a nerd, and Jordan isn't same on the inside than he is out. Hiding secrets behind her own smile, Caden shows the whole high school- through a poetry assignment- the real reason people smile, and the fear that hides behind them.
