Amy Galavaster lives in a world where abilities can be obtained easily-as long as someone else has sacrificed their own talents. Her younger brother, Caleb, dreams of going to The Academy, a prestigious school for someone as poor as themselves. But things are not as they seem in this world of grandeur.
