Secondly, the beginning of the story takes place about a year before it takes place in the musical and movie version. Marius and Cosette meet in the summer of 1831 and that is also when Cosette and Eponine fall in love. 3. After the first two chapters, the picture will not be of the character narrating the story but of the other character. For example, Chapter 3 will be from Eponine's perspective but will have a picture of Cosette. Same goes with all the chapters after Chapter 2.
