Caesar Heartsong is a thirteen year old vampire, who unlike some of the other vampires was born into this life. Caesar always followed his instincts and mostly always did as he was instructed to do.
One day he stepped way out of line and went on a killing spree. Not only did he kill most of his own kind but he had also killed at least twenty-five humans which is not by the code his clan lives by. 
So instead of killing him they exiled him and he's never going to be welcomed back and he may never be allowed to join any other clan. 
The only way for him to survive is to either disguise himself as a human or if he sticks to the shadows. 
Caesar's one and only wish is to be human.
