Anna is 16 and has never been in a relationship, so when the school's most popular guy, Luke Ragot, asks her out, she says yes without hesitation. 
About six months into their relationship, Luke begins changing for the worse. He starts getting angry and violent about the smallest things. 
On one particularly bad day, he can't contain his anger, and he punches Anna in the stomach.
