Dystopia.
Jasmine always brushed it off as one of those things she'd read about, but never actually experience. After all, her world is safe, regulated, happy. Technology connects her to all corners of the globe and it makes her feel free.
On the other side of the planet, is her best friend, Lily. They've known each other for three years, and clicked since the first sentence. No judgement. No hidden hatred. Nothing exists between them but an uncanny bond and a natural love for each other. Even though Jasmine is four years older, the two connect in a way that satisfies their hunger for understanding and acceptance.
The only thing that has been a mystery for either, and one of the first things they ever bonded over, was the mystery surrounding their recurrence. After years of research, scientists had finally proven that reincarnation was a very real thing.
At each new birth, the children were either classified 'new' or 'reborn'. The children marked as 'reborn' were recurrences. They had existed before, marked by out-of-place brainwaves. Just as throughout the centuries, the reborn would notice things, think things, that the newborns didn't.
Small differences, but substantial.
The doctors didn't discuss Jasmine's or Lily's status. The only thing they have to go on is a hunch, the small moments of knowledge that newborns don't experience.
Their world is filled with knowledge, and connections. A eutopia.
Or so they thought.
Being the only girl in the Glade is hard for Y/N. She works in the kitchen, does the laundry, and hates both. To make matters worse, Gally never passes up an opportunity to antagonize her.
Thankfully, she has her best friend Newt to support her and keep her away from Gally.
But one fateful night changes everything, and Y/N may never be able to look at Newt the same again.
*btw this is a CLEAN story, but fyi "clean" doesn't mean boring, it just means not dirty, so please don't ignore this story on account of that*
This is my first story on Wattpad, but not my first TMR fanfic and certainly not my first story. I've been writing since I can remember and I am currently 17.
Writer's block is so annoying, and proofreading isn't my favorite thing, so hopefully neither of those mess this up too much😬😅
ENJOY!!!!!❤️
**DISCLAIMER: I do not own TMR, its setting, its general idea, or its characters; the plot and Y/N's character are the only things that are mine**
