Alana and Tilly. Dead mother. Abusive father. 

Alana is 16. She puts up with her father's cruelty so Tilly won't get hurt. She cuts and has scars of her father's drunken rages.

Tilly is 5. She is her father's 'little mistake' Only Alana loves and cares for her. She has never met her mother.

Alana and Tilly are broken sisters. Well Alana is. Alana needs trust and support. Tilly, however, is optimistic and keeps her self happy. Alana tries not to show it but she is slowly breaking. 

Until one boy comes into their lives. Then the tables turn. Except for Tilly who is happier than ever.
