Voor the first time waren mijn gedachten verdwaald in haar ogen. Steeds als ik haar zag, dwaalde ik van mijn pad af. Dat terwijl ik me moest focussen op andere dingen; zoals het succes dat voor me ligt, mijn voetbalcarrière bij grote clubs. Het enigste waar ik me naar verlang is een toekomst met haar. Ze was de eerst meisje die mij zo gelukkig maakte. Wat begon op een simpele, typische middelbare school voor pubers. Ik was nog nooit zo verliefd geweest op een persoon als haar, ze was mijn eerste liefde, mijn eerste kus, mijn eerste persoon waarmee ik alles kon delen, ik was gek op haar nu nog steeds. Dat terwijl ik jaren moest wachten. Van oogcontacten, tot praten, tot knuffels, naar een relatie. Ik heb zoveel hindernissen moeten doorstaan om mijn tijd met haar te kunnen doorbrengen. En toch nog steeds moet ik ze doorstaan. First wilde ik het nooit toegeven dat ik verliefd was, want het voelde zo verkeerd. Ik was zo blij dat ik deze stap had kunnen nemen, maar het pakte mijn liefde voor haar van me af. Mijn succes pakte het van me af. Het meest dierbare persoon werd van me afgenomen, puur omdat ik voor de roem koos. Zou ik dit terug kunnen draaien? Zou ze mij ooit kunnen vergeven?
