I sat in a cold, damp room in a government facility. Sweat runs down my face, dispite the chill. The dim light above me only shows a slight glare in the mirror window facing me. I know the watch me, to see what I will do. No matter how many times I try to break the glass, it doesn't work.
They always watch.
And learn.
This was never my choice, they made me do it.

I have never felt so close and yet so far away from anything before. I could hear people yelling, they noticed I was gone. I have been locked up for so long I forgot what the forest felt like. Full of life and green. By the time someone notices they are heading the wrong way, it will be too late. My plan was to escape, run south for a bit, then circle back to my prison. As soon as they followed the scent south, I would run north. I could hear a river north, so I would run to the river then wade up stream so the scent would be lost. Find somewhere safe to cross, then take off, continuing north. My heart is pounding so hard I am afraid my captures could hear it and ruin the whole plan.Complete

I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't run any further. My aching paws pounded against the hard ground of the forest as I ran further and further from my packs territory. I looked behind my wolf and saw about five other wolves including a giant black wolf that I'm assuming was the Alpha's. I wasn't to sure though because I'd never actually seen his wolf. In fact, I'd never seen any other wolves apart from my own. During fights I was always locked in a cell in the basement so that I was never at risk of getting hurt or worse, killed. I had to stay alive for the sake of the pack. I kept them together, kept them strong; even if it meant being their punching bag. And that's why I'd never ran away till now. Why?
