A team of some of the brightest scientists began to try to physically and mentally enhance human beings, giving them powers of sorts. But nearly everyone of their trial runs have failed. Hal Greene is marked as unenhanced. His trial was a fail, but he managed to survive unlike the others. And Hal hopes to keep them thinking that, at least for another year. Then he's able to leave home, and get as far away as possible....but it seems that fate has another plan for him.
