Maria is 15 year old African American girl with a dream to be a writer. She moved from New York to Vermont because her mom got a job offer at a big company there. Her family isn't quite sure how her mother got a job at such a big shot company. Meanwhile she undergoes racism in her new all white high school and starts to lose herself piece by piece.
