What if Thomas wasn't the only one who survived a night in the maze? Another person. Another girl before him already did and lived to tell the tale.
Alex ran the maze everyday for the past 2 years. She pretty much knew the thing inside and out. Or so she thought. It was a cold day and for some reason a thick fog brew among the glade and the maze. Covering the paths with a thick blanket of mist. She didn't know where she was going or where she was. She heard the shouts in the distance but it was to foggy to follow them. Suddenly, the sound of the maze walls shutting echoed throughout the maze. She was trapped.

The usual starter pack of some character being the first girl in the glade and blah, blah, blah. Yeah..not what I'm gonna do. Let's start like this, trapped, hopeless, with no way out. That is the life in the glade. No one knows why they are there or how to get out. They try to keep each other in a state of sweet ignorance. Just to keep their sanity. But the ones that were there the longest they know. They know the hard truth that would cause other gladers to lose their minds. These few chosen ones became fearless. Warning: As my bio says I am not a native English speaker, I am from Slovakia and English is just my second language. And because Slovakia is some lost country in the middle of Europe I didn't yet get my hands on the Maze Runner books in English I only read them in Slovak and let me tell you that isn't as good...So I will be mainly basing this book on the movie, of course using some things from the books as well from time to time. Teresa is the first girl to arrive in the Glade? False. The first girl in the Glade was in fact Mia, she arrived over a year before Thomas and Teresa. The reason no one talks about her, they all think she is dead. Mia arrived in the box, same as everyone else but here's the catch, she doesn't talk. Not can't, doesn't. After a few months in the Glade Mia is sick of it, she runs off into the Maze at sundown. The Gladers assume she is dead when they don't hear from her for a week. But in reality she has been living in the maze with the Grievers, she made friends with a few of them and they protected her from the others, she runs around the maze during the night and hides during the day so that the Runners wouldn't see her. She has lived like that for almost a year now, watching over her Glader friends from afar. Each month she would watch as the new Greenie would come up in the box but then one night after a year in the maze her friends Minho and Alby get stuck in the Maze with the new Greenie.
