Maggie Peterson is a normal 17-year-old who is a new student at Mystic Falls High School. Her family is one of the founders of Mystic Falls and Maggie and her mother have returned after leaving when Maggie was born. 

But when she meets Stefan Salvatore, she finds that her memory has a few holes in it.

What happens when Stefan has been trying to compel her, so she won't get hurt in his crazy vampire life. Will he succeed and protect her and let her have a vampire-free life?  

 While Stefan is trying to protect he takes a look into her family history with some help from Bonnie. Maggie's family is an unusual and powerful witch family, their power as long been abandoned. If Maggie starts to practice magic she will have the power of her ancestors and become a very powerful witch that can't control her magic. 

But can Stefan protect Maggie from herself? Or will Maggie pay the price?
