Everything in my life was perfect until I switched schools. Looking back, I believe this was the time when my depression started. My first year at a new school, I never said anything to anyone unless I was addressed and I made sure to keep my head down. The next year in 7th grade was totally different. I guess you could say my years in middle school were filled with moments that I was "letting my freak flag fly."

Now here I am, sitting here in the dark telling you all about my problems when there are people with more and important problems than mine.

The purpose of this book is not to vent or get pitty, but to show people that they aren't alone; to show people that even some of the people who have a "happy life" aren't always as happy as they seem.
