"AYATO!" I yelled as I threw a kunai at one of the ninja who attacked us. The ninja came from behind the red haired boy and was going for the kill. I missed as I always do. I grunted in frustration.

"Pathetic. You couldn't do better? The life of your comrade is on the line and you can t do better?" A voice from behind mocked as I slammed my hands to my ear.
" Shut up!" I cried out as I knew that we were hanging by a thin thread. I looked up and froze in fear as the ninja stabbed Ayato in the back. I cried out his name as the red haired boy I'd cared so much for fell lifelessly to the ground with dull thud.

"Taichi! Behind you!" I yelled and the raven haired boy turned around thrusting his kunai into the chest of the ninja who slaughtered Ayato. I stood frozen, the humid wind brushing by ever so lightly while Taichi was fighting for his life.

"Run! You stupid girl, Run!" Taichi yelled as he tried to fight of the other ninja.

"RUN!" He yelled one last time and threw a kunai at me it hit my shoulder and the pain woke me from my daze. I got myself together and ran. Through the woods avoiding the trees.

"You won't get away that easy!" I heard someone yell, but I just kept running. A sharp pain spread through my body. And another and another. I grunted as I kept running. There was a gate. It was a village. Thank the stars!

"Help! Please help me!" I yelled making the two guys standing in the booth on the left look at me. I reached the gate right before I fell and hit my head. Hard.

"Don't make this any harder than it has to be, Sakura." I swallowed hard, my body shaking. I can't believe this is actually happening. Who knew that it will actually end up like this? I knew that I have to save Naruto and Sasuke-kun so that we could run away and hide before it's too late. "I-I'm not opening the door." I took a step backwards, looking at the kitchen. There was a knife on the counter, I needed it. If he is going to break inside, I have to fight back in order to get out of here. I quickly get it and face the door once again. I take a deep breath and tighten the grip on the knife's handle. There was one big question that kept running inside my mind over and over again. When will this nightmare end? Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto suddenly found themselves stuck in their own "ideal world"; a world with no chakra, ninjas, wars and just peace, tranquility and happiness. Their loved ones who were once dead are alive and the place they called home is back to normal again. Everything seems perfect, right? Wrong. They soon find out the person who has trapped them in that world is out to kill them. What's worse is that he won't stop at nothing until they're dead and they don't even have chakra to fight back. Will they be able to escape and be safe? Or will they remain trapped forever? Quote of the story (but not in the actual story): "Just like everybody else, you three believe in everything until it's disproved. You believe in old myths, in ghosts, in powerful creatures, etc. It all exists, even if it's just in your minds. So who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as you and I?" Sakura was on the very same bench Sasuke has left her. Crying with such sorrowful tears that it quickly saddened her surroundings. She was crying for her teammate, the very teammate now considered as a S-rank criminal. Sasuke Uchiha. She hated the name to be mentioned by her friends even it was only to reminisce those fun times they had together. "Why?" she cried. "Why did I have to be on love with someone like Sasuke-kun?" she complained bitterly. "If only." "If only I had one last chance." "Another chance to restart my life." "Even though, this would change my future, it's fin with me." "I just needed a second chance." Before she knew it, she was somewhere where no darkness existed, only light. "Where am I?" she wondered. "I will not tell you where you are," said a voice that felt like as soft as cotton and as elegant as ballet dancer dancing the most beautiful way. "Why am I here for?" asked Sakura. " You are here because of what you pleaded for," the voice said. "Your second chance." "My second chance?" "Yes, but you have to risk something." the voice said in a serous tone. " Your memory." "My memory?" said Sakura worriedly. She greatly cherished her memories, especially the fun times she had with her friends. " Yes, that will be the only sacrifice to get your second chance," replied the voice. Sakura was determined to get a second chance. " Alright, I accept." "Your second chance is granted." Then, another blinding light came to Sakura. Her recent memories were erased. Her second chance has become a reality . Will she be truly be happen this time? What is a Shinobi? Misaki often finds herself questioning that. From a small village, she had no choice but to become a ninja. Her leader needed her skills... but she wanted nothing more than to lead a normal life. Ninja from her small village die on missions and when she requests a leave, she's sent out of the village instead. How will she do when she is assigned a mission to Konoha? Will a certain ANBU change her mind about the Shinobi world, in spite of his own hatred for this life as well? What will happen when a strange figure saves Misaki's life then offers her a deal down a dark, unknown path? 《★☆★☆★》 ≪This story explores the world of Naruto, starting just before his birth. Drawing parallels from Kakashi's life to Misaki's, it narrows in on friendship, confusion, betrayal, hatred, and what it truly means to be a Shinobi.≫ 『Excerpt from the story:』 "...what does it mean to be a Shinobi in this village? Just to die... be killed without reason. It's all so pointless." His eyes shimmer with pain. I know the look as I have seen it on myself in the mirror. His voice has lost its lazy monotone and is spiked with emotion I never thought the ANBU was capable of. "Ninja don't die for no reason... they live to die for the ones they care about... to protect their village and-" the last word is barely audible, "-comrades." He leaves without another word, sliding his ANBU mask on and disappearing into the night air. Had I said something wrong? 《★☆★☆★》

The silence that filled the room was so loud that it was almost deafening, as Hinata couldn't hear anything but the sound of her own heart beating, while feeling the aggressive thumping throughout her entire body. Her blood was pumping through her, yet her body went cold as her hands held onto her husbands. The first person to speak was her sister, as a sob rang from her mouth, and her boyfriend held onto her before she fell to the floor. No one knew what to say, and no one knew what to do, but they all knew that no one would be recovering from this, especially not when their doe eyed friend walked into the room, with a smile on her face. Her perfect smile faltered as she saw Hanabi, and she subconsciously placed her hand on her lower stomach while asking, "What's going on?" - It's been years since the group of teenagers from Konoha were those kids, who felt that they had to live fast to ensure that they'd die slow. It was expressed in different ways, and as Sasuke tried to learn how to express it in a healthy manner, Naruto tried to provide for his new family. Sequel to, "Rain."
