Nobody knew much about Stiles. He was reserved and distant, a lone wolf amongst the people of Beacon Hills High School. To any outsider he looked harmless, which is why Lydia Martin chose to invite him to a party, an event that would change her life forever. Because when a terrible accident makes her a criminal, she has no choice but to flee with Stiles, in which she finds out about his secret life and morbid activity. Despite the persistent voice in her head telling her that Stiles is dangerous, Lydia can't help but think that she and Stiles are not so different after all.

Stiles and Lydia have been friends for years, since the beginning of high school when they met at BHHS. However different that they may be - Lydia, Beacon Hills own sweetheart with her book smarts and musical inclination; and Stiles, the typical rough-around-the-edges smartass born with a silver spoon in his mouth - they've always had a unique understanding of one another. Even more so, a weakness. At this point in their lives, they're just trying to make their bones in the world. Being an early twenty-something is its own struggle. Stiles, Allison, Scott, and Lydia have been the four musketeers since the third grade. Though recently Scott confessed that he likes Allison, the couple are still waiting for Stiles to confess to a clueless Lydia. Allison keeps probing her adoptive brother (Stiles) saying that Lydia didn't know he's had a crush on her but Stiles can't make up his mind. "Why do you care?" "Because I can't lose you!"
