There is nothing worse for a pirate than dying on dry land. Except, maybe, swinging two feet above it.

When their captain is imprisoned, facing the gallows, the men and women of the Lady Lesya's crew will try everything to break him out--even if it means fighting guards in ridiculous uniforms, bargaining with overweight monsters, and risking the life of the more or less innocent.

Add vengeful local thugs, a mysterious killer with a grudge, and some unexpected ghosts to this already perilous task, and the streets of Puerto Seguro turn into a bloodbath.

To get out of the town alive, the brethren of the coast will have to act not just as a crew, but as a family.

___________________

As it's a pirate story not created by Disney, expect strong language, violence, gore, and allusion to sex. But also humor, strong characters, and a touch of love.

The story, three years and a half in the making, is now complete (and under revision).

The boy had never been scourged by dread, not really, untouched still of startling agony to become his reality. He spotted the imposing cliffside meaning to change that by mere accident, kept in defiant remembrance still of this heavenly music descended upon Earth from Heaven, magnificent, majestic and entrancing, this blue ship which had came last night to conjure mystery and great brilliance vibrating with splendor and glory born, like summer sunshine brought unto gloomy night, unlike anything ever heard of. He paused in thought to look at what was dangling from these rocketed walls, instilled immediately by mortal agony. What encountered him there was awful, horrific, spun from his nightmare to turn to atrocious truth. They left a message for him, these strangers, a message for all mankind. All the people from the town were nailed on the colossal rock with obsidian spikes the size of fists, hidden in the darkness as horror always lurked there within. Blood, everywhere. The spikes ripped skin open, tore their bodies apart to let it be a grotesque image, the self-portrait of Death itself. Stiff pale limbs, grossly tangled together, a myriad of heads decorating empty space. A few mutilated legs and arms lay motionless on the bottom of it, of the mere terror, the waves had yet to reach and clean the crime scene, crimson rocks and red sand carnation furthermore. The details swam and blurred his view. He was thankful, for a glimpse sufficed a lifetime. When the dark ship came, it didn't only warn the people of the Destruction following behind, they carried it themselves, bestowing it willingly and with intent, purpose, unknown and arbitrary as it may seem regardless. People rumored among their crowds that they were in fact the cause, the real Bringer of Death. The Harbingers of Cruelty. The Black Squad, Side of Doom. At one time, I used to be a pirate. I used to be as free as the birds that fly over the ocean. I never followed rules or laws or anything like that. Of course, everyone has a code they live by. I did have pirate code, but... now that I'm no longer a pirate, I don't live by it anymore. Don't get me wrong... I don't mind not being on the ocean all the time, but I do miss it. I loved being free and truly not really ever having to listen to someone tell me what to do all the time. It's not like that now... I had to give up being a pirate, when I almost got killed. I mean, trust me, every single day was a fight for my life, but... that time was different. My parents both got killed protecting me, so I decided to give it up. Of course, I still have my skills, but... I'm a bit rusty. Anyways, here I am just living my life on the land, with my "brother", Will. He's not really my brother. It's a cover we used a long time ago, so I could get into the city. His father knew my parents. That's why he helped me. He found out about them getting killed, so... he helped me out. We are close, though. He is like a brother to me, and I consider him a brother. Moving on, here I am just... wasting my days away with Will. All we do is sit in his shop and make weapons. However... everything changes when an infamous pirate shows up out of nowhere. Everything turns upside down, after I meet... "Mistah Captain Jack Sparrow..." or.. Mistah J, as I like to call him, just to get on his nerves....

It's a deadly plan, and it goes like this: First, become a crew member of the Avourienne, a pirate ship notorious for its charismatic captain and wicked ways. Second, trick the ship's cunning strategist, famous for winning every game she's ever played, into believing a delicately spun lie. Third, get close enough to their tyrant king to put a knife through him. Deadly doesn't quite describe such a plan. In fact, inconceivable may be the better word. But Archer Kingsley has a knack for such things, and he feels he's going to pull off this plan with the ease he does most everything. Perhaps he's not quite aware of the absolute hell that's about to break loose, but truthfully, it's so much better that way. Because true adventures are born from uncertainty. * Cover by xxsoteria Mature themes you may encounter in this book: - harsh language (it's a pirate book) - violence (it's a pirate book) - sexual implications (it's a PIRATE book) However, this story does not violate any of Wattpad's mature guidelines and therefore is not marked as such.
