After Tris moves back to LA, everything changes. She has her new friends, best friend and everything seems perfect . . . But its not. After a few months that Tris left, her connections with Tobias slowly got weaker, as Tobias stopped writing any letters. Their relationship wasn't even a relationship anymore. No one knew or understood anything. 
Tris wants to have an explanation, which is why she buys herself a ticket to Chicago for all summer, so she can be with Tobias and her friends and get an answer on why Tobias never wrote again. 
A few days before she has to leave, she finds the answer right under her nose which shocks her and catches her totally off guard.
