Two months before the apocalypse, a bacteria was created to fight sickness and slow cancer, the people that they tested on weren't harmed by it at all. So eventually it was sold world wide. But it effected everyone differently. The bacteria was genetically made to help people but some people were harmed. The bacteria would cause your muscles to decay in a week then it would make your skin rot. The symptoms were clear: high fever, constant sweating, stomach aches and cramps. Some people could barely open there eyes, but in the end it would kill you, then it would bring you back to life but it, you just wouldn't be the same, you would become a monster. Your eyes would turn totally white. The person you were before you turned is gone. The thing that you are stuck with when it is all over is just a soul less flesh eating monster. The person you once loved was the living dead. A true zombie.

It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. "As of now people are dying evidently people become depressed and aggressive to one and other. They all used to live in harmony and happiness, that was until the 'things started to raise. The 'things' are as you would call it zombies but of greater skill. They disguise themselves as humans yet they will not hesitate to kill you and eat you. If someone is a 'thing', automatically presume them dead, or at least soon to be dead. It will always take about 2 weeks to become fully changed, hopefully you can chop of that body part in time for the infection to stop. If you can't, put an end to your soon to be painful and horrible turn/death. These beings as I announced only a moment ago, look exactly like a human, two way to tell if they are one or not, their attitude and their eyes. They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. The injection that would make you immortal they said, the injection that would make you a god. They offered the injection to anyone who could buy it. It was actually not too bad a price for something like this but still too much for many. The rich were injected, the royal family of the universe first and then about a fourth of Earth. After about an hour, you'll begin to feel the change and then after twelve hours, the human heart will be pumping with the zomtoxin from the injection and you will change. The people became zombies.
