Long ago while the immortals were still around, they decided to take lovers, creating half mortal children and from those came the descendants of the immortals.

Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Ares, Aphrodite and Hades all sired half mortal children. But war broke out through the immortals and in the after math, the line of Apollo, Ares, Aphrodite and Hades had all perished.

The King of the Immortals, Zeus had feared that one of the offsprings would grow to be as powerful as him and managed to wipe out their bloodlines.

In retaliation Hades had cursed Zeus, Poseidon and Athena's bloodline with immortality, a curse where you will die again and again, but will never find a moment of peace.

In the 1400's Elizabeth Evelyn Herondale, Princess of the Lycaon pack and the Scion of Athena's bloodline was married to the Original Vampire Niklaus Mikaelson in order to become his weapon and break his werewolf curse but things take a sharp turn when in 1492 the doppelgänger Katerina Petrova escapes the clutches of the Mikealson Family and turns into a vampire.

This was the night where the hybrid allegedly died and so 500 years later Evelyn Herondale, now an immortal hybrid is hired by the Salvatore brothers to defeat a monster, only to find out it's her so-called dead husband Klaus Mikaelson, and now Evelyn must fight her growing affections for her husband and strive enough to keep her family safe.
