So wanting to end this Andrea chose to use a magic spell that was created by an ancestor who found their mate but they were human and already happy with someone else so they created the spell to be able to break the bond so that they could move on. However, when doing the spell Andrea was interrupted by a newborn rogue vampire which caused her to fall from the cliff dead when fighting them. When she next woke up she was in the body of her other universe self who died in a car crash and had both lives memories. Meanwhile her old friends and family watch her new life in Beacon Hills.

Her wolf has to completely go dormant, because it's just causing her pain and she would died of she didn't. Alex thinks that she's dead, because he felt the connection between them break. He finds another girl to be his mate, and when Ashleigh is found, she is heartbroken. Not only was it her pack that made her suffer through all that because they sold her, but her mate had given up on her because her wolf had to go into dormancy. She falls into severe depression, and develops a form of PTSD, that was formed from the shock she had from her pack and mate's betrayal.
