Lost Boy Blue

(NO MAIN CHARACTER ROMANCE)
When the first body shows up, covered in wounds and claw marks that don't match a natural forest animal, Nick knows somethings going on.

Nick works as a Ranger for the forest that surrounds her cabin. She lives with Mary-her friend from college who has quite the personality. Even though no one would have guessed they'd be friends-or that they would never have any real fights-they're still going strong and live together in somewhat harmony.

The Cabin where they live is on the edge of a lake-and they share the shore with only one other neighbor. Well, an abandoned but taken care of ancient mansion. Which, honestly, looks more like a castle.

But Nicks just been told that the mansion is no longer abandoned-some Rich, European family with the last name of Dracul has just bought it. She doesn't know anything about the family beyond that-but they've sent her and Mary an invitation to their 'New Home' party.

But when Nick goes on an easy case and goes missing-only to return later with more question than answers, and more and more campers report sights of 'figures' in the woods, Nick and the two other Rangers, Jethro and Dale, become suspicious.

And when the sightings escalate from people seeing figures to the figures attacking people, they decide enough is enough.

Meanwhile Mary makes friends with their new neighbors, but hates them all-except the daughter of the family.

Nick also becomes friends, though with the father more so then the kids. The dad seems, out of touch, and the kids seemed to have been sheltered, so Nick helps out from time to time and they become friends. He's old enough to be her dad, and he kind of feels like one when he makes offhand comments about 'todays youth'. But Nick hates the middle son-a boy around her age-because he was rude and hated her for no reason first.

Hopefully the bodies don't lead to another Lost Boy Blue case, but what happens when a connection starts forming between the present, and the past?
